According to Spotify’s new earning report, the music streaming app now has 165 million premium subscribers and 365 million monthly active users.

Spotify’s subscriber count has increased by 20% year-over-year to 165 million paid subscribers and 365 monthly active users, up from 158 million premium subscribers and 356 million MAUs seen last year. In contrast, Apple Music and Amazon Music has around 60 million and 55 million paying subscribers, respectively.

The Swedish audio-streaming company claimed the share of monthly active users who engaged with the podcast last quarter “improved modestly”. In the previous two quarters, 25% of all MAUs had been involved with a podcast. In the second quarter of this year, podcast listening hit an all-time high in consumption hours.

The company has continued to make investments in both podcast content and technology. Spotify is also about to share details about its forthcoming service – Spotify HiFi.
