Discounts can boost back-to-school sales

71% of US shoppers would wait more than two weeks to leverage a sale, deal, or promotion, as per Google research.

Brands should be aware of the back-to-school trends since more than half of students are projected to return to in-class learning this year. More than 50% of back-to-school shoppers in North America plan to buy school supplies including pens, pencils, and stationery.

44% are looking to purchase clothing, apparel, and footwear. Further, more than a third want to buy health and safety equipment like masks and hand sanitisers. Consumers (68%) consider competitive prices, deals, and promotions vital for making purchases.

In addition, 48% of back-to-school shoppers stated that they will shop at establishments that provide curb-side pickup or contactless shipping. 60% of shoppers want to do at least some of their shopping with small businesses this year.
