A Social Media Examiner study found around 72% of small businesses said the top benefit of using social media was increased traffic/subscribers.
The study shows that small businesses benefit most from social media. Around 88% of respondents also said the top benefit was increased exposure for their businesses. Additionally, Google crawls and indexes the content on social pages. So, companies need to build a robust and optimised social presence to improve their chances of ranking higher on SERPs.
Along with optimising content for Google, companies should pay close attention to social platforms like YouTube, which is the second-largest search engine after Google. Creating engaging content on YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter can help boost conversions and brand awareness.
Brands should regularly tweet or post meaningful content, both original and curated, on social platforms about trending topics with appropriate hashtags. But, they should also be authentic and consistent in their social media posts.
