The American microblogging site has launched a pilot shopping module in the US.
Twitter’s Shop Module would enable businesses to highlight their products at the top of their profile. The feature would American users to scroll through a carousel of products, learn more and buy a product within the social app.
The Shop Module is currently available to only iOS users in the United States. Only a few selected brands in the US will be part of the pilot program at the moment.
Twitter’s product lead Bruce Falck said, “With this pilot, we’ll get to explore how our engaged, responsive and chatty audience reacts to products that are emotionally charged”. Falck added the pilot program aligns with its broader effort around Professional Profiles – an initiative aimed to give brands access to a suite of customisable profile features.
