The country-specific and form-factor ratings will be rolled out in November this year and 2022, respectively.
On Monday, Google announced its plans to introduce country-specific ratings and device-specific ratings for apps on the Play Store. The rating will help users and developers assess and rate apps, based on the country in which the device is registered and the form-factor ratings.
Because of Android fragmentation and country laws, not every app offers the same functionality or features across countries. Users can assess the usability of an app based on the device they use, and the country they are in.
Before the ratings are enforced, developers will be notified of any impacts, at least 10 weeks before. Additionally, more Play Store data and metrics will be accessible to developers in Google Play Console.
