The spatial audio update will come to Android devices "soon".

On Sunday, Clubhouse released a new iOS app update that adds spatial audio capability to the app. The function works by introducing minor spatial cues that place speakers on Clubhouse calls into three-dimensional space around the listener's head, emulating the sense of being in a room full of people.

The feature best works with either wired or Bluetooth headphones. The spatial audio system assigns each speaker a specific position before equally dispersing them throughout the room.

HRTFs (head-related transfer functions) will also be used, comparable to Microsoft's HoloLens, to give the illusion that the user is in the centre of the conversation. However, unlike Apple's feature, Clubhouse's spatial audio implementation will not incorporate head tracking.
