TikTok recently announced best practices based on specific features to help brands make the most of their ads on the app. With 74% of TikTok users expecting to be entertained on the app, TikTok recommends brands engage both creators and users by leveraging trending hashtags in ads.

Creating videos with a resolution of at least 720P could boost impressions by 5.39%. 720P resolution is used in 83.19% of TikTok's top performing videos. Compared to horizontal or square ratios, a vertical aspect ratio can help marketers lift impressions by 40.08%.

Further, creating videos with a 9:16 aspect ratio can increase impressions by 60.45%. Brands can also include offers, closed captions, and shoot videos in varied angles and shots to drive impressions on TikTok.
