A domain name includes subdomain (www.), second-level domain/2LD (name of the site), and top-level domain/TLD (.com).

Purchasing pre-existing premium domain names can give businesses an edge over competitors in terms of search traffic and recognition. Domains are seeing a growth rate of 4.2% YoY, as per ICANN.

Q1 of 2021 saw 363.5 million new domain names being registered, with 1,246 general top-level domains being available in the year. The .com domain is used by 52.3% of all registered domains. Because 71% of customers start with unbranded searches and 75% never scroll beyond page one, premium domain names get more incoming keyword queries.

Combining vanity phone numbers with domain names works well for brand recall, as 72% of consumers remember vanity numbers heard/seen in ads. Relevant, authentic, and existing domains without hyphens work well.
