Google’s John Mueller highlights changes on the website that would not affect search rankings.
Earlier last week, Google’s John Mueller talked about the changes in the website theme that would impact search rankings. Mueller said that search rankings could be affected if a difference in the website theme results in a layout change, overall site design or how the internal link looks.
But, to answer the question – changing which element in the website theme would not affect search rankings – Mueller said that changing colour on the site or moving HTML elements around would not influence the website’s search ranking. Mueller further added, “Think about what you want in a theme, and make sure it includes SEO improvements!”
