Further related information about the switch will be released in the coming months.
In an email announcement, Scroll said it will close down its ad-free subscription web service as a separate entity in about 30 days, to become a part of Twitter Blue. The Twitter Blue premium subscription will offer Scroll as an “Ad-Free Article” service. This follows Twitter’s acquisition of Scroll in May.
Twitter Blue will provide bonus features like “undo send”, a bookmarks folder for collating and saving tweets, and more. Before shutting down, Scroll’s offer includes a $5-per-month service for an ad-free browsing experience of many websites like The Atlantic, BuzzFeed News and others.
At the moment, Twitter Blue is only available in Australia and Canada. While information about the pricing and availability is unclear, Twitter Blue in Australia and Canada costs AUD 4.49 and CAD 3.49 per month.
