Fresh from its mass outage last week, Facebook-owned Instagram announced that it would alert users when the service runs into significant technical difficulties. The alert will appear as a notification in the app’s Activity Feed section.
Along with testing the alert feature, Instagram also announced the launch of a new tool called “Account Status”. The tool helps the app notify users when their content is reported as inappropriate. This will allow users be better prepared for the possibility of their account being disabled.
The app is considering adding more information to the tool in the coming months to help users understand how their content is distributed and recommended across Instagram.
