Globally, consumers have greater confidence in businesses than governments

70% of people globally believe their economy is weak, according to Milken and The Harris Poll.

Public trust in leaders and institutions is dipping, affecting the global recovery confidence. The study found that 56% of global respondents believe that the worst of the pandemic is yet to come. Also, 76% of citizens believe businesses this year have the same or better impression.

54% of people trust businesses more than the government to find COVID-19 solutions, and 60% said businesses have been more reliable to keep the country running. Citizens (44%) do not trust their Presidency/Head of State. People (54%) believe their country is on “the wrong track”.

However, consumers support the social involvement of businesses and expect the leaders to do so. Due to the delta variant and a scarcity of vaccines, people are concerned about returning to regular public activities.
