Researchers and institutions can apply in early 2022 and will have access to details about the process.

Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's legal, policy, trust, and safety lead, and Yoel Roth, the head of site integrity, in a recent blog announced the launch of Twitter Moderation Research Consortium in early 2022. The consortium will examine governance issues with a group of global experts from academia, civil society, journalism, and non-profit organisations.

People with proven experience in content moderation or integrity research, or affiliation with research organisations, will be accepted into the consortium. Twitter will be transparent about the criteria used to decide membership in the research consortium.

Emerging researchers and researchers from underrepresented communities will be prioritised. Upon selection, members will have access to full data on attributed platform manipulation campaigns. Comprehensive data in policy will also be added later next year.
