Last year, Walmart-Yahoo activations had resulted in a 239% YoY lift in gross merchandise.

Walmart is continuing its collaboration with Yahoo to kickstart the holiday season with shoppable content and AR-powered add-to-cart functionalities. Walmart’s “Play for Joy” Instagram game lets users interact with a claw machine and grab virtual gifts this year. Similarly, Walmart has also launched two new video series.

The first video series allows customers to shop holiday décor selections via VidAR – a separate AR experience using which users can overlay 3D product images into their own physical space. The other shoppable video series, “We Heart the Holidays”, is available across Yahoo Life platforms.

Walmart and Yahoo are rebooting their “30 Days of Savings” programme for the third time for shoppers to explore popular products. This year, the programme features a tweet countdown and a TikTok extension that lets audiences preview gift ideas.
