According to LinkedIn, a few thousand creators will first test the updates to its events options.
With the pandemic still disrupting live events, LinkedIn has decided to leverage the demand for alternate means of networking and improve its live events tools. LinkedIn will be launching an initial test of its own audio events platform. This Clubhouse-like platform will enable users to tune into live discussion and even participate in them.
The Microsoft-owned company has been developing its live audio tools since March 2020. With its latest launch, LinkedIn aims at offering more capacity on its platform, for industry-aligned meetings and discussions.
Moreover, with its professional focus, LinkedIn expects to be able to highlight audio sessions on topics that users find most relevant. The audio rooms format is also helping LinkedIn develop other live meeting features, including video events.
