The ByteDance-owned small video platform is testing paid subscriptions for creator videos.
TikTok is testing paid subscriptions and experimenting with how they can allow creators to charge a subscription fee for their videos. Even though the details have not yet been disclosed, the new subscription model is expected to be similar to Twitter’s Super Follow feature, in which some of the creator’s content is paywalled.
A TikTok spokesperson declined to confirm its purported paid subscription test. But, the spokesperson said that TokTok is “always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience.”
