IDC’s report on Future Consumers predicts how consumer technology, usage, habits, and expectations will shape the future.

Social media's rapid growth, combined with COVID-19's disruptions, has accelerated technology adoption and transformed consumer behaviour across demographics. As digital is a convergence point for social, visual and ecommerce, businesses must adopt technology to facilitate purchases in the new ecosystem.

60% of customers aged over 55 who used digital amid COVID-19 will continue to do so. As private e-bike sales continue to grow, more APeJ (Asia-Pacific excluding Japan) consumers are likely to use micro-mobility transportation like electric scooters in 2022.

Further, other areas like the robo advisors, VR, online fitness, OTT, and more will be significantly transformed in the APeJ region. In addition, developments are expected across multimedia goods, smart TVs, smartphones, and more, as consumer behaviour shifts rapidly with the growing technology.
