A recent study revealed that brands primarily receiving links from guest posting websites had a domain authority of less than 60.

Brands looking to guest post on websites to boost traffic should target sites with high domain authority. Over 75% of websites that accepted guest posts had domain authority of less than 60. While guest posts can drive traffic, linking out excessively can lower domain authority and disrupt browsing experience.

Moreover, sites with higher domain authority rank for more keywords than sites with lower domain authority. Before guest posting or linking with other sites, brands should assess their domain authority and the number of keywords they’ve ranked for.

Further, businesses that exclusively received links from other sites had little to no rankings or traffic. Businesses that received links from trustworthy websites were more likely to appear on Google's first page of results.
