UK small businesses must prioritise data and digital for recovery

Small Business Britain and TSB’s new report highlights how businesses in the UK expect to fare in 2022.

While 50% of small UK businesses agreed that their financial stability has been impacted by COVID-19, 85% are “fighting back.” 66% of businesses expect to grow in 2022. Moreover, 87% said that their sales and marketing is returning or has already returned to the pre-pandemic levels, according to Dun & Bradstreet’s report.

In the last two years, 61% of businesses saw a decrease in marketing and revenue services. Marketing teams’ new precedence towards data and digital will be crucial for recovery.

Also, according to IPSE and Worksome, 47% of UK freelancers are experiencing increased demand for their services, as a result of staff shortages. 57% of former full-time workers say they are making more money than before, and 74% are happy.
