Consumer behaviour in these countries has significantly changed, according to Cint.
Due to digitalisation, consumers across demographics and regions are spending more time online. On average consumers spend 53 hours online per week. Online activities range from streaming video to virtual appointments to online shopping and more.
In the US, consumers spend an average of 18.9 hours streaming videos, compared to 13.6 hours and 12.6 hours, in the UK and India, respectively, on a weekly basis. 48% of people in the UK bought groceries and 36% of Americans bought apparel from online supermarkets and online department stores, in the last year.
However, Gen Z customers expressed dissatisfaction with the constant digital activity, with one-third preferring to turn off video during video calls. Free delivery and social distancing are the top expectations from offline stores among most consumers, across generations.
