Forbes conducted a survey of 500 C-suite leaders across North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region to find out their priorities, challenges and opportunities for growth.
The survey found 30% of CMOs plan to expand their marketing team’s skill set with the help of HR this year. Around 40% of chief human resource officers even intend to invest in new e-learning platforms and external training for their teams. Similarly, 39% of them will focus on developing employees’ soft skills and 34% are formalizing mentoring and coaching programmes.
38% of CMOs plan to focus on customer data privacy and protection over the next two years. Additionally, more than one in three correspondents will enhance cybersecurity to better protect customer data. Around 38% of marketers expect to use data to drive marketing strategies and companies.
24% of respondents intend to increase their organisation’s investment in big data and analytics by 16% to 30% over the coming two years. Diversity is also on these business leaders’ agenda, with 35% of respondents planning to build a more diverse marketing team.
