AudienceProject surveyed 7,000 people worldwide, including 1,077 respondents from the US to highlight streaming habits.
The report revealed that as of Q4 2021, Netflix at 64% had the most subscriptions in the US, followed by Amazon Prime Video at 62%. However, Prime Video differs from other services since users are subscribed to Amazon Prime and get Prime Video as a benefit.
At 42% and 41%, respectively, Hulu and Disney+ are also among the top US SVOD services. Only 29% of US respondents subscribed to HBO Max. The percentage of subscribers to users for Netflix was 92%, followed by Hulu (88%), Disney+ and HBO Max tied at 83%.
When it came to SVOD preferences by users, 50% preferred Netflix, 27% preferred Amazon Prime Video, and 23% preferred Hulu. Only 9% of users preferred Disney+, indicating its lack of engagement.
