UpCity surveyed 600 respondents from small businesses across the US and Canada.
The survey revealed that more than half of small businesses in the US and Canada have social missions they stand by. Similarly, 30% of respondents plan to create a social mission in 2022.
About 61% of respondents consider social missions very important to them and their businesses. Of all the small businesses with ongoing CSR initiatives, 67% of them practice sustainability, while another 54% allow customers to donate a portion of their purchases to charity.
The report also found that 38% of business owners and their teams volunteer at charity events multiple times in a year and 24% of the respondents prioritise more recycling. Over half (53%) of the businesses have an in-house social responsibility team to assist with social awareness-related missions and opportunities.
