Placing featured snippets can help brands earn clicks and establish themselves as subject-matter authority.

To improve chances of getting placed in featured snippets, brands should write quality content that answers commonly asked questions and follow a structured outline format with proper headings and subheadings. As Google prioritises websites with plenty of related content, inbound links, and low bounce rate, companies should ensure their website content is well-written and SEO optimised.

Adding a FAQ section to the website and answering three to four questions on each page of the content can also improve their chances of earning the featured snippet position. They should note Google favours snippets with images and grabs snippets made up of two to three short sentences.

Brands should create short sentences and paragraphs and include images near the intended snippet text. Further, they should offer definitions and steps and optimise high-ranking pages.
