The streaming will be supported by the video platform Livebox as a native feature on Tumblr.
Tumblr’s new streaming feature is now available for US users on iOS and Android. However, there are plans to enable Tumblr Live for global users in the future. So far, the streaming service is only supported for users’ primary profile blogs and not side blogs.
While the platform had enabled streaming capabilities in the past, it used to be through other third-party services like YouTube. Tumblr Live will be hosted as a native feature on the app. Users can tip streamers and pay creators via a virtual currency called "Diamonds".
The Livestream feature will also give users the option of AI-powered moderation for streams. Alternatively, streamers can opt for human-powered moderation, where they assign the role to trusted viewers.
