The company is betting heavily on Artifical intelligence.

Tech giant Microsoft Corp. is working on adding ChatGPT to the Bing search engine, looking for an edge over its biggest rival, Alphabet’s Google. The AI-powered bot responds to queries in a conversational style that can offer answers to follow-up, unlike Google.

Bloomberg reported that the tech giant was also looking into investing up to $10 billion in OpenAI, the company behind the artificial intelligence bot ChatGPT.  The deal - which is still under discussion and will see Microsoft invest the money over many years – has been in the works for months.

In a separate report, the news website Semafor valued OpenAI at about $29 billion. The reports come at a time when OpenAI’s ChatGPT, an AI-powered chatbot, has the internet abuzz. ChatGPT’s human-like conversational style has powered debates about ethics and dilemmas around using AI.
