Amazon has returned as the major retailer with the best value perception to consumers 18+ in the US.
In the week following Black Friday, Amazon was the only major retailer to have dropped in value perception. But in the week since it has more than recovered and shows a +7 point gain since it pre-Black Friday score.
Old Navy made the biggest value perception jump since the November 21st, the Monday before Black Friday, followed closely by Wal-Mart. J.C. Penney and Sears were the only retailers to lose ground while remaining on the top 10 list.
After Amazon, the retailers with the best value perception are, in order, Target, Wal-Mart, Kohl’s, Old Navy, eBay, Best Buy, J.C. Penney, Sears, and Marshall’s.
Major retail chains were measured with YouGov BrandIndex’s Value score, which is determined from asking respondents: "Does it give good value for what you pay?"
YouGov BrandIndex measurement scores range from 100 to -100 and are compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. A zero score means equal positive and negative feedback.
