Taco Bell’s fight against claims that its “beef” taco filling includes extenders and other non-meat products has had a major impact on the company’s “buzz” scores. Now it seems to be taking the rest of the Mexican quick service restaurant field down with it. As the biggest player in the Mexican segment, it is not surprising that suspicion surrounding the taco ingredients at such a popular chain has morphed into something larger. Taco Bell’s meaty issues might be hurting other brands.
