Some Democrats have suggested that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton might replace Vice President Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket this year. But while half the public (and even more Democratic voters) in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll (Week of 1/14/2012) thinks she’d be a good choice, there is little interest in removing Biden from the ticket.
Only 19% of Democratic voters think Biden should be replaced; 56% would keep him on the ticket. And seven in ten Democratic voters say any change in the ticket is unlikely.
Clinton has become among the most popular figures in American politics, regularly scoring higher than the President when it comes to favorability ratings. Even many Republicans like her now. More GOP voters in this poll say she’d be a good VP choice than think she’d be a bad one.
