Joe Biden has been elected president of the United States, leaving many to wonder what Donald Trump’s next move will be. Several of President Trump’s political allies have suggested that Trump should run for president again in 2024.

Another 18% think that he should leave politics and back new leaders who share his political views, while a similar number (17%) think that Trump should stay in politics and run for president again in 2024.
As ever, there are partisan splits. About two in five Republicans (38%) think that Trump should run again in 2024. About one-third (34%) think that he should leave politics and back new leaders who share his views. A majority of Democrats (77%) and about half (47%) of Independents say that they think Trump should leave politics altogether.
