(Week of 4/14/2012) This week’s Economist/YouGov Poll finds President Obama’s approval rating steady — it has been in the low 40’s for months. This week, 41% approve, 51% do not.
Despite an approval rating below 50%, the President leads likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney 49% to 42% when registered voters are asked whom they will support in the fall.
In this week’s poll, 37% say the economy is getting worse, up five points since last week. While the President’s approval rating for handling the economy is only 37%, he is not the only person Americans hold responsible for the economy’s current state. More Americans hold former President George W. Bush responsible than
they do President Obama; even more blame Wall Street bankers!
