(Week of 6/23/2012) Last week, the presumptive nominees, Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney, were tied in the Economist/YouGov Poll. This week, the margin is still within the poll’s margin of error. Among registered voters, 45% say they will vote for President Obama in November, while 44% will vote for his Republican challenger.

The President claims a much larger lead when voters are asked which man they expect to win in November. 42% think the President is likely to win; 28% say Romney is.
There is one measure which suggests serious difficulties for the President’s reelection. 62% of the public says the country is off on the wrong track, up four points in just the last week.
