(Week of 8/4/2012) Last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid took to the Senate floor to claim that he had heard from "an extremely credible source" that Mitt Romney has refused to release his tax returns from before 2010 because there were many years in which he paid nothing. Americans in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll aren’t necessarily ready to believe Leader Reid, but just 41% of them think Romney has paid taxes every year.
Three in ten overall — and over half of Obama voters — think Romney has not paid taxes every year. The rest simply say they don’t know.
