President Obama is holding on to many of the gains he made in public support after the killing of Osama bin Laden. The latest Economist/YouGov Poll continues to find majority approval of his efforts on terrorism, and he scores well on his handling of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
This week, 55% approve of President Obama’s handling of terrorism. Though that is down a bit from the 58% recorded on this measure immediately after the killing of bin Laden, it remains well above the 41% approval Americans gave the President in late April.
The 47% approval on handling the war in Afghanistan is the same as it was just after the killing of bin Laden, well above the 33% approval seen on this before bin Laden’s killing.
