The differences between Israelis and Palestinians seem intractable to many Americans.
In the latest Economist/YouGov Poll, 42% expect there will never be lasting
peace between the two, more than say it may happen sometime years down the road.

Many don’t see the Obama Administration as having a positive impact on bringing
peace about. If Americans had to choose, they are more likely to favor the Israelis
than the Palestinians, a friendship they see reciprocated. Two out of three call Israel
friendly or an ally; and by 55% to 20%, they believe most Israelis have a favorable
opinion of the United States.
