President Donald Trump's second term has included an unprecedented volume of executive actions, including more than 100 executive orders in his first 100 days. As Trump's policy agenda unfolds, we are measuring public views on the administration's actions and proposals. Below is the latest polling on Trump's policies, including how views vary across topics and demographic groups. We will keep adding results as new policies emerge and are included in our surveys.

About the surveys

In surveys conducted by YouGov since Trump took office in January 2025, we've asked Americans their views on policies proposed, endorsed, or implemented by Trump and his administration, as detailed either in executive orders, legislative actions, public statements, or online posts. For policies asked about on more than one poll, only the most recent figure is included in our analysis. In phrasing the policies, we prioritized simplicity and neutrality. The policies are framed without mentioning Trump or anyone else by name or including either supportive or opposing arguments. For each policy, respondents are asked, "Would you support or oppose the following?" and offered options of "strongly support," "somewhat support," "somewhat oppose," and "strongly oppose" — either in that order or in the reverse — as well as "not sure." Policies were displayed to respondents in a grid format in a randomized order.

The table below presents a summary of public opinion on Trump’s policies, grouped by topic. Each policy is assigned to only one category based on its primary focus. We present the shares of respondents who support and oppose each policy, as well as each policy's net support, meaning the difference between the shares who support and oppose it.

Methodology: This project includes results from YouGov and Economist/YouGov polls conducted online among U.S. adult citizens from January 21 - May 9, 2025. Respondents were selected from YouGov’s opt-in panel to be representative of adult U.S. citizens. The samples were weighted according to gender, age, race, education, 2024 presidential vote, 2020 election turnout and presidential vote, baseline party identification, and current voter registration status. 2024 presidential vote, at time of weighting, was estimated to be 48% Harris and 50% Trump. Demographic weighting targets come from the 2019 American Community Survey. Baseline party identification is the respondent’s most recent answer given around November 8, 2024, and is weighted to the estimated distribution at that time (31% Democratic, 32% Republican). The margin of error for the overall sample in each survey is approximately 3% to 4%.
