(Week of 5/4/2013) So far, the sequester cuts are not having an impact on most of the public: just four in ten in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll say the cuts are having even a minor effect on them and their families. And only 11% say there has been a major impact.
The impact, despite the nearly weeklong slowdown at airports, hasn’t reached most of the public yet. More than half say there has been no effect or that they aren’t sure. And there are few differences by income, by age, or be region.
The public also isn’t sure whom to blame for the sequester. Just about as many say the President is at fault as blame Congressional Republicans, with answers based primarily along party lines.
