Most Americans say it’s important to them that a dishwasher is loaded correctly, with many preferring to just do something themselves than let other people do it badly
The petty annoyances of life can be the cause of some of the greatest strife in even the most loving, friendly households. For instance, a majority of Americans (65%) agree that there is a “right and a wrong way” to load a dishwasher, according to data from YouGov Omnibus.
Of those who say that there is a right way to load a dishwasher, 84% say that it is important to them that dishwashers are loaded correctly. There is general agreement on this between men and women.
This consensus between the sexes breaks down quickly, however, when people are asked whether they do their fair share of the house work. 42% of women say that they do more than their fair share, the most popular answer for women. 35% of men say that they do about their fair share, but 17% admit that they do less than their fair share of housework.
Americans are reluctant to let someone else do something badly when they can just do it themselves and get it right. Only 12% of the country would rather let something be done poorly rather than do it themselves, while 76% will just sigh and roll up their sleeves.
