Jack in the Box, the fast food restaurant chain, is looking to hire a Twitch streamer for its first-ever full-time content creator position called “Gamer Jack”. The “Gamer Jack” will host weekly livestreams, build relationships with gamers and boost Jack in the Box’s brand presence on Twitch.

But what fast food outlets do gamers in the US usually order from?

According to YouGov Profiles - which covers demographic, psychographic, attitudinal and behavioural consumer metrics - 38% of US respondents who identify as gamers have purchased from McDonald’s in the past 30 days. This is almost in line with the general US population (39%) behaviour, who have done the same.

About 23% of US gamers have made a purchase from Burger King, while 20% opted for Taco Bell. Wendy’s (19%) and Subway (17%) wrap up the top fast food chains preferred by gamers.

Overall, fast-food purchase decisions made by gamers largely resonate with the general public’s choices.

Only 6% of consumers who identify as gamers made a purchase from Jack in the Box in the past 30 days. This number is in line with general US population behavior, with 5% of them eating at the fast-food chain.

With its latest push to focus on engaging audiences on Twitch, it will be interesting to see if Jack in the Box succeeds in its outreach to engage the gamer community.
