Matt Lauer to host "Jeopardy!"?

According to the New York Post, the "Today" show's Matt Lauer is the front-runner to replace Alex Trebek as the presenter for the long running game show "Jeopardy!".

Lauer's current contract with the show reportedly ends in 2015, right around the same time that Trebek is expected to retire from "Jeopardy", which he has hosted since 1984.

The report comes at the same time as rumors have begun circulating that NBC execs are unhappy with Lauer. Ratings have continued to drop for "Today", which had previously been the top rated morning program 16 years and audiences are finding Lauer less and less likeable.

As the NY Times writes, "Mr. Lauer’s Q Score — a measure of likability, treated as gospel by the TV industry — has fallen by more than half since he was paired with Ms. Curry in June 2011 (...)"
