Social media networks Facebook and Pinterest have seen two of their most important consumer perception metrics hit new highs over the last 45 days, earning them YouGov BrandIndex’s honors as November’s Brands To Watch.
YouGov BrandIndex is the only daily brand consumer perception research service. On a monthly basis, BrandIndex rigorously screens the data on 1,400+ major brands to determine which have made the biggest significant gains based on its own merits, not a crisis bounce back.
Both Facebook and Pinterest are at their respective highest general impression levels with consumers since YouGov BrandIndex began tracking each of them: for Facebook, since August 2007 and Pinterest, since April 2012.
Facebook in particular has taken off over the past six weeks, climbing from 32% more consumers having a positive impression of Facebook than negative to 43%. The timing coincides with Facebook’s introduction of emojis to express a greater range of emotions instead of the one “like” button.
Both social networks saw their consideration - likelihood to visit the site - rise significantly since the beginning of the year too, underscoring each site's growing draw and in Facebook's case, domination, as major online destinations.
