This year's April Fools' pranks

In one of the year's most fun (and potentially most frustrating) annual traditions, companies including YouTube, Hulu and Gmail have unveiled their April Fools' Day pranks.

YouTube "announced" in a video that after 8 years, "it's finally time to pick the winner" and pretended that video hosting website was simply an eight year contest about to end.

The announcment took a particularly meta turn by featuring past viral video stars talking about their submissions, including Antoine Dodson (from "Bed Intruder"), Judson Laipply (from "Evolution of Dance"), Charlie and Harry (from "Charlie Bit My Finger") and David (from "David After Dentist").

Gmail, on the other hand, went with a fake product launch for its April Fools' Day entry: Gmail Blue. The supposed new advancement in email technology ups the ante by making everything …blue.

Finally, Hulu made a node to its core audience of TV watchers by making "available" episodes of fictional TV shows from fan favorites, including "Itchy and Scratchy" (from The Simpsons), "MILF Island" (from 30 Rock) and "Sick Sad World" (from Daria).
