Before viewing the trailer, 17% of respondents said they were very or somewhat likely to see this politically charged thriller. After watching the trailer, that number increased to nearly half of all respondents (49%).
Are we living in a simulation? Two of this week's films - “Bliss” and “A Glitch in the Matrix” - pose that very question.
While a film about an Anglo-Saxon burial might not sound like a particularly thrilling premise, the trailer for “The Dig” was the most effective this week at persuading viewers to consider seeing a film.
Before viewing the trailer, about two in five (42%) respondents said they had not heard anything about Our Friend and just 12% said they were likely to see it. After tuning into the tear-jerking trailer, that number jumped to 43%.
Prior to seeing the trailer, 21% of YouGov Direct respondents said they were somewhat or very likely to see The Marksman. After viewing the clip on the YouGov Direct Platform, 53% said they were now likely to see it, the highest level of post-trailer interest this week.
This eye-opening documentary was particularly appealing to Millennial and Gen Z audiences. Nearly two-thirds of respondents between the ages of 18 and 39 said they were somewhat or very likely to see the film post-trailer (64%).
