In the wake of the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, and lingering questions about exactly what the Pakistani government knew about bin Laden’s presence within their borders, just 2% of respondents in the latest Economist/YouGov Poll view Pakistan as an ally — and only another 11% think it is friendly towards the U.S.
More than that see Pakistan as an enemy — and nearly six ten describe it as unfriendly at best.
Americans believe the bad feelings run both ways. By 64% to 10%, Americans believe most Pakistanis have unfavorable opinions of the United States.
