A majority of Americans say the U.S. should maintain or increase its military aid to Ukraine, but the share of Republicans who oppose Ukraine aid is up from last month.

What you need to know about views on Ukraine, as of the November 15 - 17, 2025 Economist / YouGov Poll:

  • In the October 17 - 20 Economist / YouGov Poll, 14% of Republicans wanted to stop all military aid to Ukraine, and 17% wanted to decrease the amount of Ukraine aid
    • This week, that's up to 22% of Republicans who want to stop all Ukraine aid and 20% who want to decrease it
  • Republican support for military aid to Ukraine remains higher than it was in the spring and summer, when at times at least three times as many Republicans wanted to stop all aid than wanted to increase aid to Ukraine
    • Today only slightly more Republicans want to stop all aid than want to increase it (22% vs. 18%)
  • Americans overall are more likely to support Ukraine military aid than to oppose it
    • 34% of U.S. adult citizens would increase military aid to Ukraine (including 54% of Democrats saying this), while 21% would maintain the same amount of aid, 11% would decrease aid, and 16% would stop it altogether
