- 46% of Americans strongly approve (34%) or somewhat approve (13%) of the Democrats' message, while 39% strongly disapprove (30%) or somewhat disapprove (9%), a net approval of +8
- 26% of Americans strongly approve (15%) or somewhat approve (12%) of Trump's response, while 59% strongly disapprove (47%) or somewhat disapprove (12%), a net approval of -33
- Democrats feel much more strongly about the two messages than do Republicans
- 61% of Democrats strongly approve of the Democratic lawmakers' message, compared to 34% of Republicans strongly approving of Trump's message
- 84% of Democrats strongly disapprove of Trump's message, compared to 55% of Republicans who strongly disapprove of the Democratic message
