About nine in ten Americans 55 and older don't plan on dressing up
Halloween is rapidly approaching, but fewer than one in five Americans have a costume planned, according to recent data from YouGov Omnibus.
When asked about Halloween costumes on August 22, only 8% had costumes planned, but another 15% said that they did plan to dress up, they just weren’t sure what their costume would be yet. On September 27, 10% had their costumes planned, while another 18% said that they had plans to dress up.
Most recently, on October 22, 15% of Americans had their costumes planned, while another 10% said that they planned to dress up, but weren’t sure what their costume would be yet.
Americans 55 and older were consistently likely to say that they didn’t have costumes planned yet, and don’t plan on wearing one. About nine in ten (89%) said they didn’t plan to wear a costume when asked about their plans on August 22; the responses were similar among this age group when people were asked on September 27 (91%) and on October 22 (89%).
