For the last several months, New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez has been at the center of a sexual misconduct scandal, alleging that he had been involved with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.
A key element of the allegations was a video posted by the Daily Caller, which featured Dominican escorts claiming that Menendez paid them for sex.
A new Washington Post investigation, however, has begun to question this story. According to documents obtained by the Post from an FBI investigation of the allegations, one of the escorts claimed that she was paid to lie about having sex with Menendez.
This does not appear to be the end of the story, though. The Daily Caller, for one, has come back by saying that the escort identified in the Post story is not one of the two in the original Daily Caller video. And even if these allegations fizzle, Menendez is still at the center of another scandal involving his donor Salomon Melgen.
