Nashville is the big city in the U.S. that is viewed most favorably by Americans, according to a new YouGov survey that asked Americans how favorably or unfavorably they view the country's 50 most populous cities.

Americans are more likely to say bike lanes increase than decrease overall quality of life as well as safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers.

64% of Americans have visited Florida, the most of any state. 56% have visited New York, 54% D.C., 51% Texas, and 50% California. Only 12% have been to Alaska.

At least 80% Americans agree that it's unacceptable for airline passengers to let their children play in the aisle, to get drunk, to leave their seat during turbulence, and to watch a movie or show without headphones

Among the most unacceptable hotel guest behaviors — out of 25 asked about — are taking home things from the room, including decorative items, coat hangers, towels, and bibles.

Driving is the form of transportation most commonly used at least weekly by Americans (65%), followed by walking (44%) and riding as a passenger in a car (35%).

Luckily, very few (4%) Americans say they have ever had to cancel travel plans because of passport delays. And only 7% have ever lost their passport, though 11% of 18- to 44-year-olds who have ever had a passport have done so.

A recent YouGov poll asked Americans about various modes of transportation and whether they believe each one should be ridden on the sidewalk or in the street when used in urban areas.

Out of 12 countries, Americans are least likely to have a favorable view of walking, train, metro and bus travel

Few Americans seem willing to take a  risk such as the one taken by the five people who died in the Titan did, or to do several other risky activities. About one-quarter (28%) definitely or probably would be willing to skydive, even if money were no object, and even smaller shares would take a rocket into space (25%) or climb Mt. Everest (17%).

Half of people who live in cities say they use public transportation at least monthly, compared to 29% of U.S. adults overall.

Among people who have visited them, the national parks most likely to be strongly recommended are the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

The National Park Service receives significantly higher net ratings than most other government agencies polled within the past year — including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and others.

The most strongly recommended place to visit is the ​​Pearl Harbor National Memorial / USS Arizona Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii.

More than half (54%) of Democrats think Santa would support Democrats, 50% of Independents think he’d back Independents, and 50% of Republicans think he'd lean Republican.

While one in 10 Americans (11%) say they've never left the state they live in, fewer than 2% say they've visited at least 50 of the 51 states and D.C.
